Jorge de Bagration y de Mukhrani or Giorgi Bagration-Mukhraneli or George Bagration of Mukhrani (Georgian: გიორგი (ხორხე) ბაგრატიონ-მუხრანელი) (February 22, 1944 – January 16, 2008) was a Spanish racing car driver of Georgian descent and a claimant to the headship of the Royal House of Georgia and to the historical thrones of Georgia and Armenia. He was the father of our "hot" bridegroom.

Jorge married Doña María de las Mercedes de Zornoza y Ponce de León (born Madrid, 14 August 1942). Their children were:

1. Princess María Antonieta Bagrationi-Mukhraneli (born 21 June 1969), wed in 1994 to Jaime Gaixas, had a son Jaime Gaixas Bagration    (born 15 September 1995).

2. Prince Irakli Bagrationi-Mukhraneli (born 26 August 1972), unmarried and without issue, who renounced the succession to his brother.

3. Prince Davit Bagrationi-Mukhraneli (born 24 June 1976), who had wed Princess Anna Gruzinski (born 1976), daughter of the head of the Kakhetian branch of the Bagrationi dynasty, Prince Nugzar Bagrationi-Gruzinsky, in Tbilisi on 8 February 2009 at the Tbilisi Sameba Cathedral.

Jorge married, secondly, fellow race car driver Doña Nuria Llopis y Oliart (born 14 November 1953 in Barcelona). They had one child:

4. Prince Gurami Ugo Bagrationi-Mukhraneli (born 14 February 1985)

I've read in more than one article that in 2007 out of the 108 votes in the Georgian Parliament, 102 voted in favour of a monarchy, two against and four abstained.
In this ¡HOLA! article (I don't know how reliable it is) it's written that the president(Mijeíl Saakashvili) wrote the official wedding invitations to the Reigning Royal Houses. http://www.hola.com/casas...9/01/12/davit-bagrationi/
I've also read that Davit is said to be very popular in Georgia, and that the ruling party was the only one that didn't want a restoration but if the president himself wrote some wedding invitations.... If all of this it's true I would say they have many chances of a restoration, but then what does Russia think of this   Spiteful  ?

You mean Zar Wladimir?

I think a stable monarchy with the support of the people is not in their interests of Russia I guess  Whistle

It is said that there were not royal guests at the wedding because of Russia.

Maria Vladimirovna, Grand Duchess of Russia, a cousin didn´t come. Thanks Russia!  No
Maria (the current heir of the Russian throne) is the daughter of Princess Leonida Bagration of Mukhrani and Vladimir Cyrillovich, Grand Duke of Russia, the two are in Claras post.

Could be that the monarchy is nearer now. It was reported that 6 headmasters of schools were forced to submit there quitting.
In Georgia they exams in schools will be removed, and pupils demonstrated against it. Teachers and headmasters joined the demonstration. Then the were forced to submit there quitting.
The minister for education Schaschkin claimed that this was their choice. But the ministry don´t want to say which schools  Thinking
Several hundreds teachers were dismissed this summer after an order of Schaschkin. President Saakaschwili predicts him a big future  Blink

I think we will see in a few years King David and Queen Anna
