Chatsworth is the seat of the Duke of Devonshire. It has been home to his family, the Cavendish family, since Bess of Hardwick settled at Chatsworth in 1549.

When I was studying for my MA at the University of Sheffield I had a part-time job working at Chatsworth. Such a glorious place. If those walls could talk!

Oh wow, that’s incredible! I’ve loved it ever since the 2005 movie version of Pride and Prejudice - it would be so cool to visit, you must’ve had such an interesting time working there!

Chatsworth is magnificent, but my favorite (thus far) is Longleat. Amazing house and grounds...and lions!

Eltham Palace in SW London (Greenwich) is lovely.  It's a 1930s Art Deco house built on Medieval foundations.  The Great Hall still survives, though the rest of the house looks like a setting for a Noel Coward comedy.  I visited in August one year.  Lovely gardens.
