So her wedding announcement jewelry-I didn't notice the matching emerald cabochon sapphire until I saw this picture:

And she wore the necklace to a wedding before:

I'm thinking it was a gift from Wills a while back but I could be wrong of course.

I like the necklace, it's very flattering, and it's young and delicate. Are we sure it's an emerald? It looks like a sapphire to me and it's a little odd to combine emeralds with a blue dress.

I meant sapphire!  Thanks for the heads-up.  I changed it.

I thought a longer necklace would have looked better than this very small one that she wore. It's pretty but it didn't look right with that neckline IMO.

Again, I agree with you Little Star: the little necklace is cute and pretty, but nothing to write home about when you are about to marry into the jewel-laden BRF. However it could be a personal piece, maybe the first "real" gift she got from Wills (he has a bad reputation for gifts, I remember some funny report on him giving her some sort of hunting glove or equipment for Xmas and thinking (Quote from Charlie): Whatever love is...").
And the necklace didn't fit  the style of the dress.....

i thought the necklace looked good with the dress. it's a lovely piece that you can easily wear whether you dress up or down. classic, unpretentious and discreet enough to not attract the attention on it.

i personally like the fact that she kept it simple. hopefully she'll keep it that way.

Which tiara for Kate ? I voted for the Scrol Diamond tiara, the best for her (she's not the queen yet).

I agree. It is a tiara that is not closely associated with any recent memory and it is very beautiful.

But if the Strathmore Rose falls so far down on the face, she's going to look like a 1920s' bride. Mind you, I would imagine they can adjust tiaras like they can adjust anything else these days. It's a beautiful tiara.

I think that it was just adjusted for the 1920's era and it can be easily adapted to sit higher on her head. I really hope that this tiara is brought out of the vaults.

I'm really surprised that the Spencer tiara is frequently suggested as one that she could wear.

Most don't realize that the Spencer Tiara wasn't Diana's personal property, and that it was on-loan (and that Earl Spencer's first wife even wore it on her wedding day).  They sort-of assume that, like Diana's wedding dress, the tiara is loaned to the exhibit.

I don't think the Strathmore tiara would suit KM's style. IMO, it's got this "boho chic" thing about it. She can't pull that off.
