The full Paris Match interview is now on MT's own website: https://www.grande-duches...-grande-duchesse-2020.pdf

Wasn't this vanity project of a website supposed to be folded into the official LRF website, as per the Waringo Report?

I thought so.  Instead she now has an independent profile on social media.  Itís as if she wants him to abdicate and for the two of them to be all but exiled to Paris.  God help them all if sheís still the one in charge while Guillaume is Grand Duke.  Republic anyone?

Nothing says a mother's unconditional love more than actively trying to dispossess your children of their birth right through your own selfish and ruinous actions.

I doubt MT sees it this way. She's certainly of the opinion that she's the best thing that ever happen to Lux and that it's citizens should therefore whoreship her.

That made my inner 12 year old giggle.

No wonder MT lives in Frances 3/4s of the year. How could a small country like Luxembourg ever contain an ego so big?

To be honest I'm surprised the planet earth is big enough to contain her ego! Let alone the universe!!

It's so strange, before the start of this year I really didnt suspect anything. I thought that the Lux royals were just a weird and aloof bunch, and I was ok with that as I live in the UK where we have Prince Charles talking to trees and a very aloof royal family!

But with all that's come to light recently I'm looking at past events with a new eye. Recently I was looking at the wedding thread for Vic and Dan of Sweden and was reminded of that enormous tiara MT had on her head. At the time I thought she was showcasing the splendours of the LRF jewel collection, now I actually think she was trying to upstage everyone, including the bride. The tiara was far too big for her head and must have been so heavy to wear all day. A tiara not too big/heavy for her ego it seems!

Okay now Iím going to check out those threads. Two things pop into my mind: 1) If she was still fairly zaftig at that point she may have been trying to balance herself out with showy headgear. 2) Or she needed a big tiara for her big head.

Oh I'd forgotten about the Swedish wedding!

She wore the Empire tiara which is amazing but yes it was much bigger than pretty much all the other tiaras , thankfully Silvia wore the Braganza tiara which is another monster. I know we all kinda just though MT was trying to "put her best on" but now we know more about her and her antics I can see it being more about "look at me" and "look what amazingly massive tiaras I have access to".

I'm not saying this to make fun of MTs size or anything at all but I find it somewhat ironic that she was much better liked before she reached a size she preferred.

She looked more "normal" and "homely" with her weight on. It is not only the weight loss (which surely is great health-wise) it is the whole style with the hair, the "pretend sexy" (open button on top of a blouse) ... you see her and think "woman, you are married to a head of state and mother of five kids - what message are you giving?" Not saying that she should wear a sack or something, but it is too much and the opposite of classy.

Iíd never think twice of a Queen/Consort wearing their nicest and largest jewels for the wedding of a royal heir. In the tiara watching world itís very much expected and appreciated as paying deference to the rank of the person marrying.

Silvia wore the Braganza, of course.
Mary wore the ruby wreath (and wore less significant tiaras at each subsequent wedding).
Birgitta wore the pronger, usually reserved for queens.
Sonja wore her emeralds, her main and major parure and tiara.
Queen Margrethe wore the pearl poire  parure, Benedikte the SWB tiara, Sophie of Liechtenstein wore her huge fringe.

Actually, if there were any tiaras we were surprised about it was Infanta Cristina in the Cartier tiara, it was bigger than both that were worn by Queen Sofia and Letizia.

Well, we expected the ladies to wear their very best tiaras available to them.

Given this was the first (and last) major royal (tiara wearing) wedding of an heir, and that Josephine-Charlotte was finally passed, Iím not surprised she brought it out.

It was a treat to see the tiara and all the other major jewels.

Agree. M-T doesn't come across as a very nice person, but I can't fault her for bringing out her big gun in honour of Victoria.

Star Wonderfully written, Tsarina. I am not a fan of M-T at all, but I really appreciated her bringing out the Empire tiara. The wedding of an heir is nearly as big an occasion as it gets, and not even all of those are tiara events.
