I'm just curious as to how the British people feel about her possibly being their next queen?  But then she would follow behind Camilla, who is not my most favorite person, so she would come in after an adultress.  That makes tiny dresses and clubbing pale.  She needs to focus a career.
I cannot speak for everyone obviously but most people I know find her shallow, empty-headed and a major social climber. The fact that she just seems to spend all night in Boujis and all day on King's Road has made her even less likeable to some.

I would hope that the British would want someone with more substance than this.

I think anyone with the slightest knowledge of the RF does want somebody more substantive.

They are posed photos.

Kate is on the front cover of Hello! for an exclusive photoshoot-so much for media intrusion!

I totally agree with you, Little Star. Kate seems to me to be a rabid social climber, determined to make the most of her (tenuous) position in the limelight. It was no surprise to see how her behaviour changed during the brief split from William - her carefully cultivated "demure" image went to hell in a hand cart, with a lot of leg and even some gusset on show, and a great deal of posturing and posing for the cameras. Anything, rather than risk dropping our of view.

Kate's behaviour since the romance resumed has been interesting - she appears to be making no attempt to toe any sort of line, and indeed now appears actively anxious to promote herself as a funky, fun-loving chick about town. Her "friends" are still in constant communication with the tabloids, and she doesn't appear to be doing a stroke of work from one week's end to the next.

I am genuinely dismayed by these Dragonboat antics. It does not appear to be a serious sporting or charitable enterprise, and Kate seems to have jumped on the bandwagon very late in the day - so much so that she isn't even in half of the photographs. The team-leader is clearly involved in some sort of reciprocal publicity arrangement with Kate - saying nice things about her in exchange for media exposure for her own crackpot rowing race (and, subliminally, for her "adult entertainment" business.) I cannot imagine for one moment that Kate would be doing this sort of thing if she believed she seriously had a chance of becoming Queen - especially since their lack of real training means they are almost certainly going to embarrass themselves on the day.

I think that although the "romance" with William does appear to be back on, it's actually on a slightly less serious footing than before. Kate may be back in the Prince's bed - but how much does she really feature in his plans for the monarchy? I find myself wondering whether her role is more one of mistress than of future wife - the way in which her parents have set her (and her sister) up in a Chelsea flat whilst they look for rich husbands is strangely reminiscent of behaviours a century ago.  Kate Middleton is , in my opinion, perhaps more courtesan than a potential Queen.

Posing in pics for the beloved HELLO! ey?? my goodness she IS milking this thing for all it's worth. I think it's very possible that the two are back together (in the bed room sense) but I do think that will be as far as it gets for Kate. She seems so fake! during the relationship with William Kate, for most of the time, dressed very appropriate but once the break-up announcement came away went those days of tweed and hello to the days of mini-skirts. All those mini-skirts and with these latest 'posed' shots makes me think even Kate knows she probably doesn't have much of a chance at marrying William.  Snare

And Prince William isn't exactly the most mature 25year old............perhaps he is thinking with only his hormones.  Another genius for England.
And, Camila has stated on numerous occasions how much she just adores Kate, and is so very happy they are back together, and Camilla is a Lady who gets her way (one way or another).
With the next future Queen's (Camilla) support perhaps Kate knows just how to "play-the-game"

Hi Miss Peebles, nice to see you back!
Your take on Kate is very interesting and pretty correct IMO.
However we differ in just one point. I agreee with you that Kate would make a better mistress than wife and that she behaved quite like one of the ladies the princes and kings fancied about a century ago.
Yet I do not believe for one single second, that she is of the same opinion and that William and she have a clear understanding that it is for fun and bed only and nothing will be going down any Saint Georges aisles... No
IMO Kate might suspect that she has only a certain slot in the limelight, so she might have decided to milk it, but I think that her changes of winning the lottery aren't so far off. William seems even more immature than his danish counterpart.

interesting article "Coastguard could scupper Kate's Channel Crossing".  They (the all girl crew) didn't ask permission (until 8/2/07) to cross the world's busiest shipping lane.  The Coastguard says they have 500 vessels making this crossing every single day.  These ships include 1,000 foot container ships (some carrying dangerous cargos) , as well as Ferries (with up to 2,400-passengers on board,
In addition, their are unpredictable shoals, sandbanks & changing weather conditions.  This is a 21-mile journey.
Also, a dragon boat has a flat bottom so it tends to go through the waves rather than over them, meaning their craft could quickly become swamped with water.
The normal paperwork takes about 30days.  Without the paperwork they face arrest by the French authorities.

If they get permission from the Coast Guard, I wonder how much it will cost $$$ to re-direct over 500-boats, with Coast Guard Search and Rescue teams standing by in case the "future" Queen of England breaks a nail.

Kate sure has gotten her Media coverage out of this Charity Event.  Somehow I doubt this Event will take place.     Nono  Clapping

Well, even if the event goes through, Kate won't be taking part in it anymore. Due to the press.  Whatever!!

blaming the press ? oh and the palace as well for Kate dropping out of the race? w/e. This seems to have been only for PR and I don't think it proves she's still with William. Even if they were back on and planning on a engagement she could have still continued with the race. It would only have added to her appeal once the announcement was made.
