Congratulations to Eugenie, Jack, and August!  Such wonderful news!

And now...is this the proper thread for discussing names?  Thinking Secret

I have to say, if she gives birth to a girl I'm hoping for Victoria, mainly because it's my favourite girl's name. But given the abstract mature of the name August, I'm expecting something equally usually. Maybe Alexandrina?

Maybe she could announce it in early to mid Jan. Once the holidays are over, there’s always a letdown. Good news is welcome.

Curtains wins the pool!

A baby girl would be lovely.

As, thanks LL, and a  Star

Um….Eugenie was 1) at Davos and 2) interviewed there? Um. What are her quals?

NONE NADA except for her privilege birth and love of hearing herself pontificate.    Snare  All the yapping yorkies work my last nerve.

Star  I feel much the same.  I simply can't like this family, no matter what they do. Of course I wish Eugenie well with her pregnancy.

I would lay money on the new child having - not a wacky/trendy name, but something you don't hear too often.

A girl will almost certainly have Elizabeth as a middle name.  I'm guessing that like August at least one name will come from Jack's side as well.

What about something from the Bowes-Lyon side...Cecilia Elizabeth Something for a girl.  Celia, a nickname for Cecilia, was the name of Jack's paternal grandmother.

For a boy I wouldn't be surprised if one of Jack's late father's names were included...George Edward Hugh.  As Andrew also has Edward in his name, Andrew Albert Christian Edward, it would be an easy way to honor both grandfathers.

I like the names Jack and Genie used over Bea's choice of Sienna.

I agree, they will use Elizabeth as one of the middle names if it is a girl.

I like the name Cecilia, that would honor both Genie and Jack's families. The Queen Mum's maternal grandmother was Caroline Louisa Burnaby, and Caroline would be a nice name too.

Then of course there is Alice for Prince Philip's mother.

Bea's husband is from Italian background so I see that in the name of Sienna which I think is less "really ?" than August ..... I'm interested to see if they go "traditional" if they have a girl

Eugenie's maternal grandmother's name was Susan. And if I remember correctly, she died very tragically a year after Diana. So maybe Eugenie will think of using that name if she has a daughter. Or maybe even her mom's name, although that seems kind of doubtful to me.

DM article on Genie's pregnancy. She looks glowing. Sarah claims she is in 'granny heaven'. They don't get a comment from Grandpa Andy (of course) so they show him out riding as his response to the pregnancy.  Laughing

https://www.dailymail.co....enie-shows-baby-bump.html

Sarah shared this picture of Augie, and it made me smile. A few years ago I was holding my newest (then) 5 month old great nephew and we were looking out the window as it rained. I gave him the short version on where rain comes from and told him when he was bigger he could put on his yellow rain coat and rubber boots and splash in the puddles. His great auntie likes to do the same though my favorite is to break the thin coating of ice on puddles . . .

Did Eugenie have a breast reduction? Her upper body looks different in the Duke of Ws wedding pics.
Good for her if she did! I’m sure it’s so better for her back!

I think you're right temi. Her bust does have a different shape. With her back problem it's a very wise thing to do.
