Japan in April is really lovely! Just in time for the Cherry Blossom festival/viewing. I hope this visit pushes through this time.

approximate dates visit in Japan 28 March - 5 April. I had like to see Letizia in hat and gloves, and of course tiaras, tiaras, tiares

I'm half afraid she won't wear a tiara for the state banquet since the Empress doesn't wear tiaras anymore. But the rest of the women of the Imperial family do wear them, so obviously she has no problem with it. I hope Letizia/the Spanish delegation don't see it as an offense (to wear a tiara when the hostess doesn't wear one). I'm probably being silly . It'll be interesting to see which tiara she chooses for their first state visit to a monarchy (again, the fact that the Empress doesn't wear a tiara could make her "downgrade")

Today on TVE, they said Casa Real and the Government are working on a new cooperation trip for Letizia - this time to Senegal.

Letizia is going to be in Portugal next week, on March 23rd, to participate in a Cancer research conference in Oporto Are you going to see her? No, I'm not going Last time I traveled to Guimar?es, this time I'm not going to be in Oporto - at the beginning I was hoping my brother was going to attend the congress - he will not

- April 27: Felipe will be in Strasbourg where he'll meet with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Secretary-General of the Council before giving a speech at the Assembly to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Spain joining the Council of Europe.
- April 29: WA's birthday??
- May 8-9: Visit of the President of Costa Rica to Spain.
It is not known if this is a state or official visit. If it's a state visit F&L have to be in Madrid on May 9 for at least the return reception, and they won't be able to attend Harald and Sonja's birthday dinner. - May 19-21: Felipe will travel to Jordan to attend the World Economic Forum. Rania is a member of the board of the forum.
- May-June: Letizia will visit Spanish cooperation projects in Senegal
- June 9: Felipe will go to Kazakhstan for the Astana Expo
- July 12-14: State Visit to the UK (or not
) - Sometime between now and February 2018: Felipe (and Letizia?) pays an official visit to Cuba, something JC always wanted to do and was never allowed during his reign. (Before his abdication he attended an Ibero-American Congress but never paid an official visit)
- Sometime in the last half of 2017: State Visit to Morocco
