Nik and Tatiana return to normal life photos and events

I think I remember the story of their knowing each other since she was basically a kid from skiing in Switzerland.

I looked through old threads on the sugar board, but there was nothing mentioned about how they met.  They have been together since 2002 or 2003.  Her family owns a ski chalet in Gstaad.

I'm not sure what you're asking.  Do you mean grammatically?  Grammatically speaking, it is correct; however, it sounds awkward when spoken.  You have made 'knowing each other' the object of possession in the sentence.  It's similar to "Pixiecat's knowledge of Spanish is not as good as Clara's knowledge of English."  In this sentence, "knowledge of" is something that belongs to each of us.  Most speakers of English would say, "I've heard they've known each other since Tatiana was young."  What you've written is more formal and grammatically accurate.  It's very impressive!  I don't think that the average English speaker would be able to write it that way.  You should be very proud of your English.  You're fluent!


No, I think they've been dating since 2002/03.  I'm not sure when they first met.  Michelle_J posted a photo of Tatiana walking into the reception for Fred and Mary's wedding back in 2004.  She wasn't with Nik in that photo, but she was invited   The only way she would have known Fred and Mary is through Nik.

When Tatiana was 20 years, Nikolaos and Boris were skiing in Gstaad, a woman came up to Boris and she whispered in his ear, Nikolaos said to Boris "How can you letting go of that woman? And Boris replied "She is my sister"; Nikolaos only remembered to Tatiana when she was little, but not 20 years. Tatiana says she was born in Venezuela, his father died when she was 6 years old, after she says she lived very little in Switzerland, she is raised in Spain, in Malaga.

Thank you!   So she was raised in Spain.  Spanish and German are probably her native languages.  Her mother probably spoke both to her as a child.  I wonder if Nik is fluent in Spanish?  He probably is since he spent a fair amount of time with his Spanish cousins. 

I thought that Tatiana was older than all of her brothers and sisters.  I guess she's younger than Boris.  Nik is eleven years older than Tatiana, I think.  I wonder why Tatiana's mother moved to Spain?  She was never married to Tatiana's father.  I wonder if Tatiana's father ever lived with them.  I've always had the impression that he did not.

Tatiana's grandmother lived (lives?) in Spain, maybe the mother moved with her after splitting with Boris and Tatiana's father?
The GRF used to spend their holidays with the SRF: summer holidays in Marivent, Christmas breaks skiing in Baqueira...and I read (a forum? a magazine?   ) that according to Nikolaos, King JC once told them that if they (the kids) didn't learn Spanish they couldn't spend their holidays in Spain. I don't know if they learned or if anyone besides Alexia is fluent but I guess he'll at least understand something.
