At least they're still in the family, which is nice to see.

Thanks lula for the info on the emeralds.  Star  It looks so much better in the new setting. Farah was such a beauty back in the days. Is the set still in the Iranian royal family? Or they have to sell some jewelries to make ends meat too?

The SRF main line certainly keeps or got back the most beautiful pieces: Fleur de Lys tiara, Cartier diamond & pearl tiara, the diamond & pearl loop tiara, the Mellerio shell tiara (Did JC's aunt also sold this back?). It's just a shame they don't have any tiaras with color gems.

But I wonder why these were all Queen Ena's tiaras. The previous queens didn't pass down any tiaras? Did they sell them all in exile?  Thinking

The vast majority of jewelry worn by the Iranian ladies belonged to the State Treasury, forming the foundation of the currency.  Like having gold bullion.

Still think "what a waste" when I think of the jewels in the vault.

I think this necklace would make a pretty tiara.

I have that same feeling when I think of Cromwell or the French Revolutionaries destroying so many historical things, or the post-WWI destruction of the monarchies, especially in Soviet Russia. All those priceless works of jeweled art through the centuries that were dismantled, sold, or destroyed makes my soul twist.

Yes Yes! I can't stand the thought of destruction. I can't even watch people break a guitar. I just can't.

As tiara it would have high spikes, reminds me of Princess Benedikte's tiara.

That necklace, although pretty, looks a little too spiky to me to make a successful tiara. You'd have to have big and thick hair, perhaps in an updo, for it to look good, IMO.

You couldn't pay me to wear this necklace with all those sharp-pointed stars. I bet it's terribly uncomfortable and scratchy.

I would use the stars as brooches and wear the reminder as a necklace. The stars in my opinion overwhelms the necklace.

Would make a really pretty tiara without the stars
