There are 2 frames for the Strathmore Rose tiara. One that is wide, to be worn across the forehead as was popular when the Duke of York and Elizabeth married, and a regular frame to sit atop the head in the more traditional format. As far as it needing repair or fortification, plenty of time to get it done. Pretty sure Garrard or Asprey or whomever would do a bang up job quickly.

How about some bandeaux?

It was exhibited at the V and A in 2002, so I'm pretty confident that it's still intact. http://www.thecourtjewell...trathmore-rose-tiara.html

I've read in a places that it's very fragile and wouldn't be able to be worn, but it'd be great to see it. Fergie's tiara doesn't do much for me and there's so much lurking in the BRF vaults that I'd be happy with anything that hasn't been seen in a while.

I can only imagine the jewels they have stored away that no one has seen or those that haven't been seen for a long while. Honestly, what's the point of them if they never get worn and are hidden away?

Add to that the historical value, something that can be measure since it's pure emotional, and you got an immeasurable fortune.

Diamond tiara, Hübner, circa 1912, it belonged to Bourbon Parma family before.

That's a beautiful tiara. I bet those fleurs de lys detach as brooches.

I was surprised to realise that Imelda (the original one) is still alive.  The first tiara looks a lot like one of the Belgian ones.

It was noticed that for the first time HM has worn the Diamond Diadem and had the Imperial State Crown carried.

I noticed that too.  It makes sense as the Imperial State Crown is heavy and I thought that the stage management was well thought out and non alarming.  It was very much she 93 and this is more comfortable than OMG she's not wearing the crown what's happening.  Very well executed...and I have a soft spot for the Diadem and wish we saw it more.

It makes very good sense since she now sometimes hunches over as she walks. It would be horrid if the ISC fell off while she was walking. Nicely done substitution with the diadem. She has wisely opted for a smaller diamond necklace too.

That said the Imperial State Crown is truly something to behold.

That 'smaller necklace' is the coronation necklace. Not small at all!
