Yes they make new ones. People still buy for the same old reasons; to display wealth.  They tend to not have large stones in modern ones though.  The fancy debutant balls and weddings are the most common showcases.

Looks like this is a recent one: https://www.garrard.com/tiaras-and-headdresses/

I noticed the names of their Princess tiaras are Alice, Beatrice, Catherine and Charlotte.

Thanks Eliza!  Star I didnít know that. Seems like a silly expense for a one time wear, but thatís just my opinion.

I noticed that too LL!  I guess you can be Princess Charlotte for a day (and for $$$).

Thereís a whole world of ďsilly expenseĒ out there that us plebs will never comprehend! When you look at someone like Kim K-W, who spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on the flowers alone for her wedding, or the ridiculous and extravagant birthday parties thrown for their children, with thousands of dollars of balloon sculptures and the like, that only end up in the trash (and landfill!).

I have seen some Australian ďcelebritiesĒ (who are these people), who drop $10K on a birthday party for a one year old! And of course its featured on DM!

Its obscene and extravagant indulgence, but I guess itís their money in the end.

All of this to say, I am sure there is a huge market amongst the 1% for this type of thing.

The new ones are very pretty, but they donít have the ďwowĒ factor anymore, do they? They all remind me of snakeyís dinky little thing.

as exclusive as they look, there is no comparison to a vintage or antique piece. The craftsmanship is miles apart, IMO. It's a shame that the craft of becoming a jewelrer is slowly disappearing. The same with watchmakers. Here in the US maybe more so than in Europe.

I think this would look lovely on Leti. It reminds me of the Cartier Loop, but smaller and more dainty. The Cartier Loop and the Fleur-de-Lis tiaras look a wee bit big for Let's head, but that could be because I'm used to seeing them on Sofia's voluminous hair.

This Lover's Knot Tiara set auctioned at Christie's in 2017 is my all-time favorite tiara. IMO, it looks much more exquisite than the Cambridge and Queen Mary's Lover's Knot. I think that it'll look great on Leonore when she gets older.  Smiley

Thatís a very good point, PeDe. Those did look almost mass produced, but Iím sure they were very expensive nonetheless.

Thanks for posting those photos, Maddie. The hearts strike me as a little young, like something one would wear for a quinceaŮera. But at 8 million HKD, its a serious set of jewelry.

An acquaintance of mine studied to become a gold and silversmith. However, it was not easy to find work here, and mainly  getting/having a right to exist. In addition, she had an accident quite a few years ago so that she can no longer use one arm optimally. Unfortunately, she has given up this profession.

I am fond of dangling diamonds tiara,  I can imagine the sparkling of those dangling diamonds every time the wearer moves her head.
Look at the size of the tiara in picture link bellow

Any info about it's provenance?

Alexandrine drop tiara is one of the beautiful looking tiara with dangling diamonds.
