Tonder Festival 2010

wonder why she's not wearing that set more often. Can that be Georg Jensen?

Cool.  I was wondering what brooch she was wearing to Parliament.  I love that she incorporates brooches into her look.  It gives her a more sophisticated and polished look.

I think this is my favorite brooch of Marie.
I like most of them. Sometimes they're looking like costume jewelery but I'm pretty sure that they're not fake.

Agreed, that brooch doesn't look fake.  It puts me in mind of something from the 50s/60s.  They must have allsorts in boxes and safes in these families.  Might be an old one of Queen Ingrid's from years ago or something.  Either way it looks great on that jacket.

Sometimes it looks like the bigger brooches overwhelm her.  Perhaps she should wear them on her left hand side.

The broaches are chosen well.
They look great - timeless and classy.

Her jewels are nothing to write about home but she is using them in the right way as with many naturally goodlooking women do -adding a finishing touch not wearing It in order to stand out

I feel that Mary with her gazillions jewels which some are extremly big and odd on most outings is trying to compensate cause she feels not really naturally attractive nor feminine

I agree, while Marie does not have any outstanding jewellery. She never lets jewellery wear her. Whereas, with Mary the jewellery alway wears her.

Marie does have fine hands, and great with bling.
Comparison with Mary's hands??

Mary has the type of hands that two of my equestrian daughters have.
They are more rugged, strong and outdoorsy - like Zara Phillips' hands.
I'm not suggesting that Mary is anywhere near as good a rider but just that years of
doing sporty and active things does show on the hands.
My Aunt is an avid gardener and her hands are twice as 'etched' as Mary's.
My Aunt always says - 'You can't be too precious or preoccupied by your looks or you'd never leave the house and get anything done.'

Hands that look used/useful are okay by me ... and also some people are born with bigger hands.

Mary's bigger bling is often in keeping with the expectation that she will give the old family jewels an airing; people like to see them at formal occasions.
I know I enjoy seeing them and other Royal House's gems.
