The tiara is lovely. I wonder if the jeweler hopes Joachim will purchase it someday?

No one sensible would drop $250,000 on a tiara if they could borrow it any time!

Yes but of course you run the risk of someone else taking a fancy to it and buying it, unless it's perpetually kept in the jewellers' vaults. It's certainly a lovely tiara.

I agree and also no-one with the money would spend it on this - not a good design at all - IMO much in the same space as the Danish one she designed there - the design elements are lacking and the "stones" are lesser as they are displayed. If some French jeweler was happy to spend technician time on this then I wouldnt go there for a custom piece. IMO you can buy at auction for a fraction of the price - get to keep it and restyle it if that is what you want

I agree.  On closer look, the elements are similar in theme and size to those of the Ruby Tiara.
Clusters of sapphire berries ..... cluster of ruby berries.

I still think it's a lovely tiara, infinitely better than any of the other new tiaras we've seen her or Mary wear. The amethyst tiara is awful IMO, she redeemed herself with this one. Yes, I would have loved to have seen an antique tiara (from the vaults or bought) but I still find this an attractive design (I think the floral elements look like violets) and I love the sapphires.

How much do you fellow Jewellry lovers Drool think this this tiara is worth?  Is it worth within Joachim 's bank account to outright buy for her?
