Yes, I never really understood the point of that particular design. Why place dark stones at the base?  Even if someone has light hair they probably wouldn’t show well.

Amethyst is Marie’s favourite stone so she chose that one.

December 13
Mauboussin unveils a new boutique with Princess Marie in the heart of the capital
Stacked in time for the holiday season, Mauboussin reveals a new address on one of the most popular arches of the capital, rue de Rivoli in the heart of the 1st arrondissement. A confidential setting, more discreet than its luxurious shops of the street of the Peace and the Champs-Elysées, where to find a condensed of the most beautiful pieces of the French jeweler.

Last September, the Mauboussin house was in the spotlight when Princess Marie of Denmark appeared at the State Dinner organized by the Danish Sovereign in honor of the President of the French Republic, wearing the brand new 'Nuits Claires' tiara by Mauboussin.

A Mauboussin jewel of know-how, made of white gold, paved with 13.15 carats of diamonds and 13.58 carats of sapphires, and imagined in close collaboration with the princess.

A personal choice that gives pride to her French origins, and testifies to the close relationship that exists between Denmark and France.

On Thursday, November 13, on the occasion of the inauguration of the new address of the jeweler at 140 rue de Rivoli, the princess made the trip to discover the new setting of the house in the colors gilded and midnight blue, reminiscent of nuances Ceylon sapphire adorning her diadem.

Marie seems to be wearing New Mauboussin earrings

She looks gorgeous in the picture with those earrings. Very classy, and fresh with beautiful natural hair and make up.

I adore Marie but this smacks of shilling for the company  which is not even a Danish company.

This makes me a bit uneasy.

this is the first time she attended an event of the company......I have no qualms what-so-ever about Marie's event. None!

What should make everybody uneasy is Mary's connection to Marianne Dulong and the hundret thousand of $$$$ that the Crownprincess is spending and bringing in for the jeweler.

And there was and is a Danish-French connection even before Henrik & Marie.

One owner of the ruby set was Désirée's daughter-in-law, Josephine, who was known as Queen Josefina by the Swedes. She amassed an incredible collection of jewels during her lifetime, including legacies from Empress Josephine and the imperial family of Brazil. When her granddaughter, Princess Lovisa, married Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark in 1869, however, Josefina knew exactly which jewels to give her as a wedding present. Because the ruby set is red and white -- the colors of the Danish flag -- she offered them to Lovisa, who took them with her to Denmark.....

.....yup, Frederik's Ruby Parure

I could understand a sense of double standard when it comes to Mary vs. Marie.

So far, Marie has worked on and worn a tiara by a French jeweler.
Second, she's gone to their Danish opening.

As for Mary, she's been spending and wearing Dulong since day two if not day one.
The spending is what bothers me.  She's been spending a lot and on such similar pieces.

As long as all ethical considerations have been taken into account regarding Marie's association with this jeweller.

I don't want a situation like Mary who has an ethical black hole surrounding all her associations with commercial entities.

Unfortunately that is not correct, that is the opening of a their new shop in Paris, so no danish connection at all. That seems strange to me to be honest.

To me it makes perfect sense. Marie carrie's Henrik's torch to bring Denmark and France closer together. The French brand might just plan to establish itself in Denmark.

Sorry for the mistake.   Blush

I agree that it's strange ... since she's a Danish princess now and probably should not be at a promotional thing.

However, it might be a out of social courtesy to visit since Mauboussin created a tiara with and for Marie to wear and/or borrow at will.

I am also suspicious of any double standard when it comes to what one Danish princess can do or get away with and another is held closer to the fire.

We do live in times where princesses are more literally hangers for designer clothes and accessories.

I find it tacky to use her title like this for a store opening just to to have another tiara, and a rather child like one IMO. She has a beautiful and historic piece at her disposal, why would the wife of the 6th inline need more than one? The danish court should stop with all the freebees for the younger generation, clothes , jewels, vacations, it reeks of cashing in and they get enough money to buy what they need, and then some. Other courts like spain and norway has super strict gift rules, the danes should follow suit.

I think it's good that she has a second option and even better that it is only a loan. I would have found it silly that they would have bought another one because eventually they will be so far down the line. Loaning was a good choice. And why wouldn't they do that,  the children of Frederik and Mary won't attend galadiners for some years. Isabella is only 11 and Josephine 7 and for sure it will be another 15 years or so until Christian gets married. I expect Joachim and Marie to attend galadiners for a long time before they fade out. If you look at Benedikte, she does attend still a lot of galadiners even though Frederik and Joachim are married.

Absolutely.  And who knows, by then he may have a wedding that does not require tiaras.
