Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako, Princess Aiko, attended a New Year reception held for ambassadors to Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. Princess Aiko celebrated her 20th birthday in December last year and thus, she attended an official event for the first time as an adult member of the Imperial family.

Emperor Naruhito attended the first ceremony of Imperial New Year's Lectures 2022 (Kosho-Hajime-no-Gi) at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
Crown Prince Fumihito, Princess Kako, and other members of the Imperial Family were in attendance as well.

Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended New Year's poetry reading ceremony.
The Utakai Hajime Imperial New Year's poetry reading ceremony at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The theme of this year's "waka" poems was "mado" meaning "window"

Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended the Japan Prize 2022 Ceremony
The Emperor & Empress attended the Japan Prize Presentation Ceremony that was held for winners of the years 2020, 2021, and 2022 in Tokyo. The Japan Prize is awarded annually to scientists and engineers from around the world who have made significant contributions to the advancement of science and technology, thereby furthering the cause of peace and prosperity for mankind.

Each year, two fields of science are honored. The Japan Prize winners receive a certificate of merit and a prize medal. The Presentation Ceremony takes place in the presence of the Emperor and Empress of Japan every April. The events are attended by about a thousand other distinguished guests, including eminent academics, researchers, and representatives of political, business, and press circles. The week in which the Japan Prize is presented is designated as "Japan Prize Week".

The Emperor and Empress attended the 16th Midori Prize ceremony
Naruhito and Masako attended the 16th MIDORI Prize ceremony (Reiwa), held at the Parliamentary Museum in Tokyo. The Ceremony of Awarding the MIDORI Prize is held to further promote people's interest and understanding on the Greenery Day, and to develop people's knowledge of MIDORI (greenery).

As much as the JRF wear “old-fashioned” clothes, they really are classic designs, impeccably cut and tailored with nice lines, fabrics and colors.  They are well-dressed at all times.  Pretty shade of green on her.
