Congratulations!
If I am reading it correctly, the boy is named Micheal (after his great grandfather) or not?
Of course. I don’t know how it appears in a browser, there are two announcements, the first in Romanian and the second in English.
The boy was born on the 15th, exactly 30 years after the King’s first coming back to Romania in ‘92. (I was working in the airport building at the time and was able to go on the tarmac to welcome him. I touched hands with him.)
Nice news. I wish Nicholas would resume his original name of Nicholas Medforth-Mills.
I can see why he doesn't. His aunt has a pretty great deal for a former royal family: cheap use of an official residence and a couple of other castles for one. She is officially acknowledged as Custodian, she formally greets ambassadors to Romania and government officials among other things. Way more than someone like Georgi does. They've managed to fit in along side the republic and no doubt there are other perks. He must be hoping he can slide into that position one day despite being kicked out of the former King's "line of succession" so he continues to use Prince Nicolae to a certain extent and promote his foundation as a Princely one.
It seems that when he was disinherited he was still allowed to call himself De Roumanie Medforth-Mills so I can see why he does that. He might have a more fulfilling life doing something else other than be a former royal for hire (basically an influencer as well) and talking about his grandfather all the time but he seems committed to this course.
