Would have looked far more elegant and sincere if she wasn't pursing her lips and clenching her jaw like she's feeling rage or resentment.  Roll Eyes

And clutching poor Margeís bicep like itís the very last vial of restylane in the world.

Nothing but awkward in all these pictures. Sophie looks like she's having intestinal distress, Autumn looks drunk, Bea looks like she's falling, and Fergie looks insane.

I find curtsying so humiliating. I don't know why it's still practiced in the 21st century.

No one is forced to curtsey to the Queen so they do it because they want to show respect to her and her position. Nothing more and nothing less really.

 Thumb up Thumb up
Insanity imo.

A bow of the head like men do would suffice. I think some monarchies have done away with them. The Netherlands?

My understanding is that curtseying (for women) and head bowing (for men) is optional for everyone - except the family (i.e. all house of Windsor members), they all must curtsey/ bow the head in accordance with protocol/ rules, esp towards Liz. Also all foreign royals visiting each other. That's what I read, can't say how true it is.

Showing respect to another person by humiliating yourself is how I see it. There're other ways to show respect, and bending like a 19th century serf in front of a master shouldn't be a way in our time and age. But obviously that's my opinion.
