I think the issue is all these issues have been raked over far too much already so it feels really rather boring. I mean seriously we've had every angle and take on the war of the Wales' we can imagine and this era is the sort people can still remember so are learning nothing new in contrast to those who weren't alive at time of Aberfan and that era.

I think the other issue is we've tended to hear quite a lot from those involved in much of the dramas of the 90s - Charles and Diana themselves but even the likes of John Major have discussed the decision by HM to pay tax.

There is nothing new to add really apart from these odd juxtapositions to the past. They've have better off ending at series 4 or resting it for a decade or more.

just finished season 6 - it was okay, definitely didn't grab my attention the way the first couple did. Diana was perfectly cast and I also liked Imelda much better than Olivia Coleman. the way the season ended though was awful. I didn't even realize I was on episode 10 until it ended and the next ep didn't automatically play lol. there was just no suspense or anticipation there since everyone knows what happens next. imo this season should have ended with Diana's death then next season can finish with the golden jubilee

I’ve watched about five episodes now of season 5 and I have to say… they have done a good job so far of making Camilla sympathetic. They definitely didn’t vilify her, majority of the blame seems to go to Charles.

This is not about The Crown directly, but interesting none the less:

Elizabeth Emanuel, half of the then husband and wife team who designed Diana's wedding dress, has replicated a gown designed for Diana, which she wore to a party shortly before her wedding. Elizabeth Emanuel wanted to show Diana in a different light than she was portrayed on the show.

I also enjoyed it and had that jarring ‘no next episode?’ reaction.

Every once in a while, I saw traces of Dolores Umbridge peek through Imelda Staunton’s QEII. And I’d get a giggle out of it.

LOL, William and Kate look good and the younger brother looks as bad as he indeed is. Harry wasn't a stunner, but he was rather cutish, this actor however makes it look like Harry had reason to believe his first lawsuit against the hair stylist was as good as won...

I still need to finish season 5.

William and Kate look good enough but I agree that the Harry casting is horrible. He was soooo much cuter than this.
