We all know how it started;
Adam's first wife Lilith, was too independent and so he requested a new, less independent one;

Then Eve came along, woe mankind. She pleased Adam, took care of the garden, probably did the laundry and she even served him dinner; Would you like an apple, dear?

Then it sort of got downhill from there;
Do not try to achieve anything in politics, it could end up nasty (Cleopatra)

Do not try to write your own gospel, it doesn't matter how close you were to Jesus, the men will only think of you as a hooker anyway. Maria Magdalena, was never a whore.  Nono

And whatever you do, don't waste your time saving your country from a never ending war. They'll thank you by beheading you. Jeanne d'Arc.

A good example is that of Alexander the greats sister. Many people don't even know that Alexander the great had a sister, Cynane, famous on her own right as a brilliant warrior. No, it's all about "Phillip and Alex" and sometimes his mother is bashed (for good reasons though)  Secret But she's rarely, if ever, mentioned either.

Thanks CoC. That's hilarious. I've been following this case closely. I can't believe all the male chauvinistic comments from DSK's defenders. The French "philosopher" Levy also defended Roman Polaski. Apparently, he hasn't met a rapist he doesn't like. It's elitism. They're circling the wagons because DSK belongs to their exclusive club: rich and influencial Jewish men. The worst is the comment that the whole incident is no more than a master's having sex (forced or unforced) with his servant.

I'm glad the NYPD acted quickly and no one is treated differently because of his position. I thought French revolution was about equality. Apparently, there's a way to go for France in that regards.

As for his wife, she obviously has some issues by being in such denial for years. I wonder whether she has STD check every six months. God knows how many women her husband sleeps with through the years and he doesn't appear very discriminating. Now she's spending millions on his defense. She's a fool.

I do agree.

The story about Lilith makes one think..........and Jeanne d' arc. The biggest accusation was that she wore pants.....

Polanski......The people that has defended that rape......It makes me sick.

And I just love Jon Stewart for his coverage.

I do remember Vigdís Finnbogadóttir. It was so important that we saw a woman could be president. And what you wrote reminds me of how the female politicians are treated here.....

regarding AS case, I think people are shocked at how ugly the other woman is because, let's face it, Ahhhnold is rather hot for his age. You cant say he is not good looking. So from that, and from the beauty of Maria, we would expect that Ahhh nold would have pretty decent looking chick. I bet we find out his other Baby Mommas are good looking. Women he was attracted to. This beezatch working in his house just hopped him in bed. I believe she ambushed him and he, being lazy, just said, well why not? What's the harm of it? I believe this woman thru herself on him. Doesnt make him any better in my eyes, tho. Just an explanation of why he hopped this unfortunate looking woman. Even Maria probably couldn't believe it either!!!

I am torn on the DSK case:
There are indeed a couple of things that simply don't add up.
Had a trainee, an assistent, a housekeeper at his house, someone in his entourage cried wolf, I would have believed it in a heartbeat. He IMO fits the pattern of influencial, powerful and rich men who suffer from a complete exaggerated boastful opinion of themselves. Men like those "on top" that really believe they would get away with everything, that indeed they have a right to take whatever they want and that they are invincible. They seem to lack basic respect for other humans, to which they feel superior.
A rape however? And such an uncontrolled spur of the moment act? I don't know.
Jon Steward made fun of the defense of Cleaning brigade, but really honestly:
Can you imagine a man like Kahn staying in a reg. hotelroom, of which the cleaning staff has about 2 dozen to clean in 2 hours, causing them to burst into the room anytime?
AfaIk, DSK as scheduled to check out that day, does it makes sense to believe that housekeeping would send a cleaner into the suite before the guest had checked out? So what was she doing there?
And how was he to know there would be a cleaning lady coming in? Are we supposed to think he happened to come out of the shower naked, in comes a housemaid, that under normal circumstances would not be there and DSK is suddenly overcome by his raging hormones? Springs a 32 year old woman, forces her to oral sex ?
It just doesn't make sense? If he was so incapable of controlling such voracious sexual greed, has there before never been any hint? Any situation?
Then again, imagine him being set up (by whoever) would he try to flee the country without so much as taking his mobile phone?
I just don't know.
And honestly I am getting very tired of those crying wolf stories a la Assange and now perhaps DSK, I fear that eventually nobody will listen to real victims, because everybody will believe in set ups...

Personally I don't know how people think that can make up their mind about what happened from hearing fragmented stories I think people should let the court do It's job

fairy I have read that he tried to forced himself on a young journalist in France and If that's true and they'll use It in court his behavior would be described as serial that he has a pattern and then there's more chances he would sit in jail

If true I assume more women would come out and It's gonna get dirty and ugly like It did here with our ex president trial his powerful friends used every tactic saying that's a conspiracy (but not by who and why)  clamming the raped women-his workers were prostitute (for real!) and  they "fabricated evidences
He did It to the women who worked with him for some his tactic was gaining their trust and creating a "friendship" then raping them
Others just come to his office and then he exposed himself
I think that for Strauss It would have been a whole lot easier If this was in France where he has so much power (and favorable media!!) but I'm sure he has powerful friend in the US too

BTW about "the gospel according to Maria" scholars believe that It has nothing to do with that Maria It was written many years later in a different geographic area and by a different religious group that was a sect. Hate to spoil the best part about the Da Vinci code

Tack PeDe  Hug  Star I'd be more than happy to preach women's history to the kids, I'll just need to find myself a publisher, then I'm ready to get started  Banana Glad you like the name, I think it's really beautiful

It's ok, for me the da Vinci code spoiled the real gospel  The gospel is usually regarded as written by/for the gnostic part of Christianity iirc but I guess it derives from Maria/Maria inspired teachings one way or the other, like the gospel of Thomas.

Yes Fairy, It's not the first time, there have been rumours of his sexual behaviour before.

Quote
What is more surprising is that DSK has also been accused in the past of assault along eerily similar lines, if not as brutal as what the NYPD spokesman has alleged. Journalist and novelist Tristane Banon, a god-daughter of DSK’s second wife Brigitte Guillemette, recalled in a 2007 book, then in a TV chat show that same year, going to interview Strauss-Kahn to an address “he gave me, neither his office nor his flat; an elegantly appointed studio, with a bed in an alcove”, in which, she said, he grabbed her, tore off her bra, and she only managed to escape after a serious scuffle. “I kicked him, I called him a rapist, he didn’t seem to care,” she said. (DSK’s name was bleeped out in the chat show.)
Banon’s mother, Anne Mansouret, a Socialist local politician, confirmed the story yesterday to the respected website Le Post. Banon consulted a barrister, but finally decided not to sue, a decision her mother now regrets having encouraged her to do so. “She was just starting out in journalism,” says Mansouret. “I was afraid she’d be defined by this story.” She says her daughter will give a press conference “in the coming days”.
Other instances may well resurface. Aurélie Filipetti, a respected Socialist MP and Marie-Ségolčne Royal supporter, said in 2008 that she had been groped by DSK and would “forever make sure” she was never “alone in a room with him”.

Clara lets see what those woman have to say and if it is really true they have to make legal complaints against him. It is not enough to speak with some journalists.
We have a female journalist here who said just after his arest that he seduced her when he was in Romania and after all media just inflamed and declared him guilty of another offence, she declared that it was nothing like that .
You have her story :
