What a lovely clip, never seen it before, thanks for posting. Mark Phillips' parents are there right at the beginning and in the middle of the group shot. Photographer is the late Patrick Lichfield who took C and D's wedding pictures, was at the time married to one of Zara's godmothers, and whose mother was a niece of the Queen Mother - hence the quite relaxed conversation with Anne and the royals...Anne talks about a historical footnote, I think it must be the beads Zara is wearing (pearls? coral?).

I thought I spotted some of them in the clip, but here are Zara's godparents: Prince Andrew Leonora Anson, Countess of Lichfield Helen, Lady Stewart (wife of Sir Jackie Stewart) Hugh Thomas Andrew Parker Bowleshttp://nextinlineforthethrone.com/zara-phillips/One big happy family! BTW didn't Anne and Andrew had a fling/dated/or else?

If she had she would have lost her place in the line of succession (until the passing of the Succession to the Crown Act) as Andrew is a Roman Catholic.

There are rumors that Anne fell out with Tim in 2004 but the Queen told then two divorces looks bad, so they have to pretend. Apparently they've been living separate lives and Anne's been living with Andrew PB for a while now. This is pure gossip with no proof but I did see it on two separate sites, though neither is 100 percent trustworthy. Still, interesting to think about.

Tim lives at Gatcombe and spends time with Anne's grandchildren - and is very close to them. There are many people who spread rumours but the reality is that Anne and Tim do a lot of things together and seem comfortable with each other.
Anne has remained friends with APB but there is no way they would be living together without the media getting hold of that story and making it front page news.
Anne and Tim had a rough patch about 2004 but, like many couples, rather than give up on their relationship, have worked on it and have now the second longest marriage in the BRF having celebrated their 25th anniversary a few years ago.

I love how Peter just plants himself on the couch! And then I think the Queen says to him, "Have you come to keep and eye on her, Peter?" And he every so gently gives her head a soft stroke at about 1:24. I even chuckled when Andrew sat behind the Queen Mum and said "Hello Granny"

Today is the 20th anniversary of the Childers fire in Queensland where seven young British backpackers lost their lives. Anne visited the town a few days later... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MyW9dj8tIUc

So sweet to see the Queen holding the baby, then fussing over on the couch..... really shows that mother/daughter relationship. And yes, Anne was very pretty, much more than she got credit for I think! Little Peter is the poser, isn’t he?? Very cute.

Lots of interesting articles about Princess Anne as her 70th birthday approaches. I often wonder if she was asked by the Queen to mentor individuals married in to the BRF and if not why? She’s managed to forge meaningful work for herself (Save the Children) and combine it with the usual royal visits. A pretty good example - hopefully Charles includes her in his slimmed down version of the BRF.

Does anyone think Anne is her next favorite? After Andrew?

I think Anne is her absolute favorite to spend time with, and then Edward. There are loads of stories of her dropping in randomly to spend time with both of their families when the children were young. I have heard no stories of her doing the same with the York girls. Andrew is simply the child she thinks needs the most help. That looks like favoritism, but it's just being a mother. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and the most problematic child gets the most attention.

Personally I've always thought Andrew was just good at letting it appear and at suggesting he was her favourite or certainly not dissuading the press of the notion. When it suits Edward is sometimes described as her favourite so who knows. I've never seen much to suggest Andrew or Edward are more favoured over the others.
Yet I read in a number of places that HM use to visit Anne at her Dolphin Square flat during the troublesome late 90s and talk to her about the family etc over Anne's homemade cheese souffles. I've not hear similar about Andrew or Edward (though I would bet Ed's kids have had the best quality granny time of the grandkids)and think really Anne is the "dependable" one the Queen can turn to and confide in. We know HM loves horses and so does Anne, the most of any of her children so I think that also gives them a natural connection. Likewise Anne is always said to be like her father, given Philip and HM's strong relationship I bet HM finds Anne the easiest to deal with.

I think HM appreciates Anne's "no fuss" approach to life, a trait both her maj and Philip share. There has never been any big scandals about her, even her divorce and remarriage were low-key and dealt in a matter of fact way, without the press going to town over it. I think also being the only daughter allows the Queen to have a unique relationship with Anne compared to her other children. With Anne's love for horses and the country life, I think the Queen sees a lot of herself in her daughter, perhaps for her, Anne is living the life that she would have, had she not been Queen.
