I love this photo - the vaguely untidy room with the (I suspect) saggy sofa that she has to have extra cushion to sit on

Totally agree with you upon that. It looks so "normal"   Grin

My snooping revealed that she and I both have an old rare belleek seahorse-with-shell-on-its-back on our shelves! 😹

All that seems to be missing are their dogs lolling about on the carpet.

It truly looks like a family home where grandkids can run around. Was surprised at how normal it looks.

It reminded me of the sitting room at Sandringham that is open whenever the royals aren't in residence. That room also looks normal. I was there in August and there was a February TV guide still there - dust free but still there.

I suspect the extra cushion may have more to do with the state of the Princess Royal's knees than the condition of the sofa. It may be just a little too low and soft for her to be able to get up and down as easily as she would like. And I bet you don't have to ask me how I know this.

I love the picture of her mimicking her father's stride, complete with her hands behind her back!  So sweet.

He was that rare one that came out of the cousin marriages that was distinctive and HAAAWWWT. Too bad his kids got beat with the Windsor Ugly StickTM for the most part. It's pretty much down to Peter Phillips that has won out genetically, with James Wessex still to be determined.
