From an interview I saw of Charlotte, she was satisfied to ride with the amateurs and not compare herself to the "pros" who now compose the Olympic teams. She seemed to have her head on straight as to her abilities and was (in a very healthy way) only interesting in improving as a rider. This is as it should be. One day she may or may not make it to the Olympic level. It did not seem to bother her one way or the other.

Thank you, Hibou. It must be just the magazine then that made that unjustified comment about her wanting to be in the Olympics next year.

I'm interested to know if people think Caroline would make a better ruler than Albert, and if so,why?

Monaco has been steadily going down in terms of prestige.....

I bet the Monégasques would want someone else. The person needs the strength of Albert I. + the business sense of Rainier III.
From all of Rainiers children Caropline seems to be the most capable.

It also seems to me that Caroline also has the less "issues" than Albert.  

I think Stephanie has the most heart and has "cleaned up her act" in the last few years and is doing her duties fine, but she is too free spirited to be a sovereign.

I think it´s a huge lost, because the Casiraghi children could do much for Monacos reputation.
Andrea for example teached for 8 months children in Senegal, Togo and Niger. He is also involved in AMADE and is the patron of the Motrice Foundation.
If Albert would say that Andrea should be official Prince after him (I believe Caroline would give Andrea the throne) things would be different. But he is obsessed with having an own heir (in his age).

yeah...Andrea taught kids in another country for 8 months...how exactly does that show that he could handle state affairs like dealing with a minister of state or foreign laws ALL DAY LONG? It doesn't. Plus Andrea REALLY doesn't seem very qualified for the job, IMO. Too much partying, and not enough focus on their royal duties, all three Casiraghis. Thus why Albert wants his own heir (he should repeal the no adoption law and make Jazmin his heir if he REALLY wants a heir.)

For me, Andrea is quite qualified for the job, it's just that people see him as a party boy, that think he is not qualified.
Albert used to party a lot too, and however, he is a Sovereign Prince now.

Plus, of the three Casiraghis, Andrea seems to be the most centered this last time, IMO. There are no pictures of him partying like the old days, the one that does that currently is Charlotte. I also think that people tend to believe Pierre is better than Andrea just because he looks better. And has a better looking girlfriend.

Jazmin would be an interesting option, but it would be tough for the girl, and the monegasques. Girl never had contact with her father, and all of sudden she would be the Princess of the country. And monegasques never saw her in their lifes, is like she is not part of the princely family.

I see Andrea more in a diplomatic role, like ambassador of france/Monaco somewhere, especially with his educational background, rather than a head of state.

It would be interesting to see Jazmin in the role. But I think Albert has other plans for her. I read somewhere she's studying business administration and music at Fordham-perhaps one day to take over the board of SBM? Only time's going to tell.

Maybe he is qualified, but Albert doesn't want him to interfer in his job. I don't know what's in Albert's head, imo he should have his nephews (and nieces, why not?) by his side, working in the political aspects for Monaco. Albert seems stucked in his teens, so i think maybe he is a little bit eggocentric and doesn't want Caro's children to be with him in these aspects. And maybe that's what he got married, to have children...but then again, i don't think he gives to much thought in that. He always seem to live the present and doesn't care for the future.
I do see Andrea as ambassador sometime later. Maybe he will, maybe he won't.
About Jazmin: I don't know if Albert really considers her for anything Monaco related. I think she will do her own career and her own life in the states, and won't be related to Monaco in any aspect.

I don't see it. Like I said, I really think if Andrea was interested that Albert would let him be more involved. I think Caroline put it into her kids heads that they are citizens of Monaco, and not necessarily part of the Royal Princely Family, but they still have some official roles as nieces and nephews of the sovereign, and that's their main role for Monaco- to be second rate royalty and people who have no real power whatsoever.
As for Jazmin: I really think Albert has some kinda plan for her, trying to get her to forgive him for not being there for all those years. If she's smart, she avoid both parents.
