A bit brassy. All that sun in the summer will do that. The way to get around it is to wash your hair with purple shampoo. Takes the brassiness out.

ANDREW DENTON: Yes. What did... When you first met, what did you see in each other? CROWN PRINCE FREDERIK: What did we see in each other? We saw... Well, it's a bit hard. It's a bit blurry, in a way, because it was just after the Olympics had started and it was one of those evenings where...

Here's what my opthalmologist has to say about about purple shampoos. As we get older, the lenses in our eyes age and become yellowed, even if we DON'T develop cataracts. So we tend to perceive a lot of things we used to see as white suddenly develop a yellowish cast. And this is particularly true in the case of our white hair. Sometimes it is truly yellowish, but so often it's largely a matter of our perception. As a result purple shampoos were developed to cut down on this yellow appearance. (It's a simply matter of color physics).
What happens often is that we overperceive the amount of yellow so use an excessive amount of the purple or blue color-- either in a shampoo or a ``rinse'' that we put on our gray hair. That's what ``the blue rinse set'' is a pejorative term used to describe older women who overdo the color correction.
As a side note, a notice as a quilter that older women tend to buy a lot more blue fabric than any other color. I think it's a function of the same color-correction related to yellowing lenses. I've also noticed that when people get cataract surgery, they remark about how bright the colors suddenly seem. It's because now they are looking through brand new clear lenses in their eyes instead of the old yellowish ones they've had all their lives.

Wow I didn't know all that. But the purple shampoo is just a shampoo that takes the brassiness out of the blond. I use only when I find my gets gets too yellow looking. It brings it back to a more beige look. In the winter I hardly use it at all. Maybe once every two weeks in summer. Having said that, I really don't like Caroline's hair, maybe it's the sun or maybe just the light. I really like what she's done to her hair recently so am thinking this is a one off. .

Caroline, Albert and Charlotte attended the conference "Colette" - writer by chance" to mark the 150th anniversary of that artist's birth. Non-French citizens might not know "Colette". Intereting to see mother and daughter together at this event and notice the resemblance between them. I can't remember any other royal mother and daughter with such a physical resemblance as they have. https://www.vanityfair.it...onaco-stesso-stile-chanel

Caroline is aging very well, always has been a beautiful woman. It doesn't look like she's had work done. Good for her.

I agree, I have admired her and followed her fate for decades. And I admired her for letting her hair get grey, accepting her getting older. Only, that picture with those prominent cheek bones, looking to me like little apples, (which in many women is a sign of having done something to their face) alerted me. But even if she did something to look younger, it's her decision, maybe it makes her feel better.
