Lest we forget . . . Princess Grace died 40 years ago today.

Oh wow.  That's a royal death that was quite shocking at the time.  And being an American, she was still one of us, in a sense ... plus Grace was yet young, and still so beautiful.  I have memories of watching her funeral on TV.  The beautiful Samuel Barber "Adagio for Strings." That was the first time I ever heard it and to this day I think of it as "Princess Grace's music."

When Princess Grace was pregnant with her first child, she shielded her growing bump from the press with a handbag. A handbag was named for her. It was called the Kelly bag.
