I'm very into photography. Here are the best 100 photos out of 3000 photos I took in Spain in 2009. Most photos on the home page are shot in Alhambra, the exquisite Moorish fortress/palace in Grenada, Spain. I spent the whole day photographing that place. IMO, Alhambra is the most beautiful palace I've ever seen and I've been to places like Versaile and the Forbidden City etc. Moors' in-door, out-door living space is so enchanting. Fountains and water features are everywhere. The crispy sound of flowing water can be heard from every room. I can live there even without any modern amenities. Password: JKIrvine. http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b219/JKIrvine/I'll visit Turkey next month. I'll post photos of Turkish palaces after my trip if people are interested. I can't wait!

Thanks for sharing the photos Laprincess I agree, La Alhambra is a special place and as much as I like all the castles, fortresses and palaces in Spain nothing comes close to her.

Thanks for the compilments, JessBaby, Pede, Clara and shoshana! I wish I had more time at Granada. I could have photographed that city and Alhambra for days. The city is just full of character and charm. If I visit Spain again, I'll spend more time at Granada and Ronda. I love those two places. Pede, the waterfalls are not in Alhambra. It's in a former monastery that has been turned into a hotel and park. It's a bit too commercialized for my taste, but it has a beautiful waterfall at almost every turn. Clara, I didn't even visit the inside of the royal palace in Madrid. I'm not into those gold-gilded Rococo palaces. Whoever designed Alhambra had exquisite taste. I hope Turkish palaces have authentic Islamic architecture and charm rather than some gaudy Rococo styles.

getafix, thanks for the link. That's not exactly the kind of palace I'm hoping to find in Turkey. Hopefully, they'll have something more authentic to the region and religion. I'll be disappointed if all the Turkish palaces are like that. If the palace disappoints, I can always photograph the Blue Masque and Haigue Sofia.
Divinemiss, thanks!

I'd like to see more Turkish designs or Islamic art influence. That's all.

Oh. Thanks. I'd be interested to hear what you think of such places as Topkapi, Cemberlitas hamam, or any buildings designed by Sinan and other lesser known buildings around Istanbul. Look forward to your photos G

Stunning photos! I really want to to visit the Alhambra. Your photos are beautiful- what do you shoot with? Thanks, LS and HG! Oh you have to see Alhambra. It's exquisite. I shot these photos with Canon 40D. It's a DSLR. I upgraded my camera and lenses this year. I hope I can get even better photos in Turkey. But since I have to join local tours within Turkey, I may not have as much time for photography. Except Cappodocia that is. I turned that tour into private tours so I can photograph from sunrise to sunset. I'll have to see how much photography I can do around Istanbul.
