It’s certainly unfair to group all the other family members who Charles may want to “ask to retire” with Andrew. IMO it’s two separate discussions and it really shouldn’t be Charles who is responsible for his brother, especially because it’s their mother who has been the head of the house whilst everything has gone down. Andrew should be forced to give up his titles and his positions in the army (when the Fail writes army bosses want this to happen, you know they don’t want him around anymore) and live the rest of his life privately. I don’t understand the legal issues but since he’s not accused in the criminal court, he will never go to jail but certainly loosing his titles and being forced to live the rest of his life in privacy is a punishment for him. I have my doubts QE will do this and that will leave a permanent mark on her legacy. Sure, let’s blame Charles for this also but really it’s on HER not doing something about Andrew earlier.I don't think Charles is to blame but he has a lot of power in the royal family right now. Elizabeth is over 90 y.o and with health issues. She's always been, supposedly, about putting the monarchy first, it shouldn't be so difficult to make a serious stand with respect to Andrew. The whole lot are pussing footing around the issue instead of making diffult decisions between family and monarchy.

This thread is NOT about Virginia and she is also not a royal and therefore not a person to discuss on this board.

You mean to say we can no longer discuss what's happening with Andrew and the proceedings in the US court? I'm sorry but I'm confused. ETA my apologies Maria. I hadn't read previous posts and didn't understand why you made the call about not discussing Virginia. Good on you!

I would think facts that pertain to Andy’s legal quandary can still be discussed - perhaps avoiding mentioning the plaintiff where possible. Sorry Maria, I thought the inflation $$ information should be corrected, even though it’s a bit tangential.

I get that, in fact I more than get it, I don't understand why discuss a non royal, trafficked victim when we should be discussing Andrew and how the BRF is dealing with him in a royal forum. I know many BRF supporters are trying to deflect blame or make the whole issue go away without touching the Queen, Charles and everyone else in the family. It's not going to go away. I know many people think the US courts are crap and a joke depending how much money you have to let go on a technicality, but they are not. Honestly, there are few judicial systems as fair and democratic as the US. It's the reason I've said the BRF should make a decision now where is time before waiting to see what happens with Andrew's court case and can always say to public opinion "We did the right thing". Othewise is letting the whole awful saga being dragged down and with it the reputation of the royal family.

Just look at how Mr 45 has twisted it for decades The US legal system is all about the rich or connected and not anyone else .... it might have been decades ago but not now You mean to say we can no longer discuss what's happening with Andrew and the proceedings in the US court? I thought they'd been trying to sell it for several years. Not much of a rush.

The Express thinks they sold it months ago. I'm confused about the York girls holidaying in Verbier. I thought there was a problem with Andrew's chalet... he was sued by the former owner, or something like that?
https://www.express.co.uk...land-inside-home-picturesIn September 2021, de Rouvre reportedly withdrew the lawsuit as the couple repaid the debt after selling the property for £18million.
Sarah Ferguson, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice chose Verbier to start the new year although it is unknown where they are currently staying.

I don’t know… Andrew, 61, owns Chalet Helora in the ski resort of Verbier with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. It is understood to be his only method of raising substantial amounts of cash. The pair agreed last September to sell the seven-bedroom property to a wealthy European investor. They bought it from millionaire French socialite Isabelle de Rouvre in 2014 for £16.6m. But the deal has not been completed. Sources close to the Duke suggest he wants to push the sale through “urgently”.

If Betty has actually said “no” in such a way that Randy is desperate to raise cash to pay for the consequences of his actions, that’s a certain kind of justice happening.

I can see this being true because if nothing else Charles, William, heck even Anne and Edward and HM's financial advisors will probably be pointing out - why should HM fund his lawyers and any settlement if he has a spare ski chalet worth several million £ sitting around. This is the same Queen who famously sent her son back out to find a lost dog collar "because they cost money". I think HM would fund it all if Andrew had no other way of paying but while there is a very large, expensive chalet going spare she may well agree he needs to dip into his own funds first.
