Llwynywermod looks really charming. Rooms there are available for rent. Here's the official rental website:

And the official site for the entire property:

The accommodation "North Range" in the grounds of Charles' Wales residence has quite a reasonable tariff - from about 1400 to 2000 AUS dollars per week.  Gorgeous countryside.
I like how the cottages have been renovated using sustainable insulation, heating, paint and even hemp plaster!

On a recent trip to Pembrokeshire, I visited the woollen mill which made the carpets for Llwynywermod. It had a water wheel, resident cat and used wool from the sheep that roamed the surrounding hills. It was a beautiful place and the carpets were stunning.

C&C had visited the mill both officially and unofficially. There was a big picture behind the cash desk.

The Little House at the Royal Lodge, Windsor - also known as Y Bwthyn Bach

This little house was given to the Queen when she was a 6 year old, on 'behalf of the people of Wales'. The rooms are only 5 feet high. It was recently renovated by Princess Beatrice.

^ What a cute tiny house
I wish William and Kate were given this house and not the Kensington palace apartment. Imagine William crouching in a 5ft room  Spiteful

It's incredibly cute! They created dolls' houses of the Little House, as well as little 'Lilliput Lane' ceramic models.

Out of the ones above Anne's looks the least attractive. Eddy and Andy both have it too good; don't think either of them deserves what they've got. Not fair, is it, but life's not fair.
I'll have to disagree with you here, Leesa...between the 3 of them, Gatcombe looks to me like the only one that's a genuine home Yes

St James' Palace is my favourite of the London palaces - it's always surprising how close you can get to it, but it still has that secret, fairly-tale castle feeling to it. I'm searching for interior pics but can find very few:

1940s English Heritage pic of the main staircase:

The Queen's Library:

Another room:

The state apartments, where a certain engagement was announced:

The Tapestry Room (I can't find a colour image but the tapestries are supposed to be incredible)

If anyone can find any other interior images, old or new, I would love to see them!

The Banqueting House (not really a palace or castle, I know, but let's not split hairs...)

This is an amazing place on Whitehall, absolutely steeped in royal (and republican) history. Designed by the great architect Inigo Jones in 1619, it's had many different uses and also has one of the most remarkable painted ceilings in the UK. It was used by Charles I, Cromwell, William and Mary and subsequent royals, and is now cared for by Historic Royal Palaces. It's also available for hire if you need a party venue...

The exterior in the 19th century...

And now... It really doesn't stand out on Whitehall, which is lined with grand buildings.

Once you go in, it's stunning.

Beneath the building is the undercroft, which has lots of historical information and is quite nice in its own right:

And what a history! Perhaps the building is most famous for being the backdrop to the execution of Charles I:

And it's also where William and Mary accepted the throne:

The best bit of the building? The Rubens ceiling in the main room, which used to host grand dinners and 'masques'

The crazy thing is that he has adult family members who could actually have fit inside.

can anyone tell me which is the house said to be the inspiration behind Mr. Darcy's home in pride and prejudice written by Jane Austen?  I heard this house was also used in the movies made on this book. If there is a house which inspired Jane Austen then i would really love to learn more about it's history.

Not sure, but I believe it's Chatsworth House.

Not castles or palaces, but what I *believe* are the properties owned by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Tam-na-Ghar, Balmoral

3 bedroom cottage left to William by the Queen Mother and used as a weekend bolthole while he was at St Andrews University

Anmer Hall, Sandringham. Will be the Cambridge's 10 bed country residence.

Apartment 1A, Kensington Palace - the London home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

They also have use of Nottingham Cottage until 1A is ready:

And they rent a farmhouse in Anglesey, near William's RAF base:

Wow. There are really a lot of stunning and breathtaking castles in England taking that they are a country with royalties. It must be fantastic to be able to visit those sites. I've done a quick search on UK castles here: http://www.picturetheuk.c...mmended-castles-1016.html is it allowed to stay in there for accommodations? Does anybody know what are the castles which offers accommodations. I'll be taking a holiday at http://www.bluechipholida.../dawlish-holiday-cottages and I was thinking of experiencing a holiday stay at a castle after my 3day rental ends.
