Thanks for all the updates.  Also thanks to Rita for the info on Mo, Hind and Haya.  It kind of reads like a soap opera.  I love me some royal gossip and info.  Smiley Hug Champagne Cool Jumping

Princess Haya Of Jordan Speaks Out About Health Issues on Facebook
Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein of Jordan talked this morning about the importance of talking about one’s illnesses and experiences.
In a Facebook post, Princess Haya revealed that she first noticed a “butterfly-shaped gland” in the front of her neck, the thyroid, which was followed by worsening eyesight and “gaining weight rapidly.” She dismissed these as  symptoms of age, added, before a medical check-up revealed that she had high counts of thyroid antibodies.

Princess Haya calls for world to take urgent action over plight of Rohingya refugees
The plight of the Rohingya people has moved Princess Haya to make an impassioned call for international powers to do more to end their persecution.
Accompanied by a photograph of refugees on her Instagram account, she warned: "The UN and global powers must stop this ethnic cleansing now or thousands more will surely die in the weeks ahead. Each day they wait, more lives are lost."
Princess Haya, the wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, said that "over the past week alone, more than twenty thousand Rohingya have fled brutal persecution in Myanmar - their homes burned, many brutally beaten, family members murdered".
"Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum generously created an open air bridge which continues to deliver humanitarian items to those who need it most. But this is not enough!", she wrote.
Sheikh Mohammed set up the air bridge this month after ordering an aid flight carrying food and supplies to refugees in Bangladesh.
Since then, more than three flights have delivered core relief items made available by UNHCR, the UAE Red Crescent, the Red Cross, Médecins Sans Frontières, the International Organisation for Migration, and World Health Organization, through the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot in Dubai.

How the World Food Program’s Dubai hub could save 1.5-million people
Princess Haya bint Al Hussein this week contributed to a new fund to allow the rapid purchase of stocks of high-energy biscuits designed to ensure a source of nutrition for communities facing a human catastrophe anywhere in the world.

Her exact contribution has not been made public, but David Beasley, the executive director of the UN World Food Program, has described the donation as “a life saver” and said the princess is “a true champion for people facing hunger and poverty".

Princess Haya’s donation will help the WFP’s regional office in Dubai procure emergency stocks of the biscuits, which can feed a person for an entire day with just 100 grams. The biscuits are packed with energy and micro-nutrients and are the backbone of the WFP’s efforts to ward off famine in various disaster areas around the world
