I think whoever wants to wear white can wear white. It is only associated with virginity since Queen Victoria anyway. Before that, brides (virgins or not) wore their best dress and that was that.
ITA
The typical white dress was a privilege for the rich and noble class. The normal wore black or brown, because it wasn´t so expensive and it was convenient.

Thanks for all the congrats on the 100.
Sonja's dress is a little too plain to be the sort of thing I would want for myself, but I've always liked the fullness of the skirt:

For me:
1. CP Mette Marit - simple yet grand
2. Sarah Ferguson - she never looked better
3. Marie-Chantal Miller - royal and stunning
My all time favorite wedding dresses
Lyndell-
I completely agree with you about MM. She and Victoria are my two favorite royal brides of this generation. They both looked gorgeous on their wedding days.

I love how substantial Sonja's veil seems to be. Here's another one from a slightly different angle (not as good of quality because it's from a newspaper copy). I also think this little artist's rendering of her dress, printed in the paper the day of the wedding, is very cute. The drawing sort of makes her look like a mouse, IMO.

Sonjas dress was very simple, but the fabric was really good!
Thanks Tiger! In a way I like Laurentien!
