This handout picture, released by the Belgian Royal palace on October 20, 2011, shows Prince Philippe and Princes Mathilde sitting beside their oldest daughter Princess Elisabeth, in the greenhouses of the Royal castle in Laeken. The pictures were released for the Princess' tenth birthday celebrations, on October 25, 2011

This is a gorgeous family!  I know that there was no mention of Mathilde until Philippe announced their engagement, causing some rumors of this being an arranged marriage, but regardless of how they met, I do think this is a love match.

I adore Phillippe and Mathilde and their children. I saw a video of the couple when their eldest child Elisabeth was born, and you could tell Phillippe was absolutely delighted and besotted. No sexism or disappointment in the sex of the baby there! Really gorgeous
