25 April 2018, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema opened the 4th Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition at the Thangzona in Punakha. Royal family members attended the opening of the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition at the Thangzona in Punakha.

Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan attended the first foundation day of the Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH ) in Thimphu. Since it was established in 1950, the hospital has been supplying free basic medical treatment as well as advanced surgeries and emergency services to citizens from all over the country. The hospital is one of five medical service centers within Thimphu.

It's because she's lighting a prayer lamp (butter lamp in Tibetan Buddhism). Most people cover their nose and mouth during the lighting of a lamp so as not to contaminate the purity of the prayer lamp through air released during breathing. It's very nice to see the Queen do this.
