Let's keep track of them. I have a feeling there will be many more!  Clown

For starters, in Copenhagen UNICEF were explaining the special nutritional food they send out and had prepared some for the group of royals to sample. Willy, Ferd and Mosh all obliged and tasted the food. 'Catherine' - who supposedly cares so much about the cause - refused to taste it. Doing this said many things. To the UNICEF employees who spent weeks preparing for the visit, it was a rude and unappreciative gesture. To the people who are starving, Waity has made it clear that she is above them and has no serious interest in their plight.

Another moment she messed up was the opportunity the press gave her to speak to the world and inform them about this serious situation. Too bad she didn't have any information in her head and couldn't speak about the issue or about UNICEF. Even CP Mary had things to say about the cause and UNICEF's work. Mary spoke in a serious tone. Compared to Waity, Mary actually has gravitas!

Oh my!  WK will continue to stay at home, with the palace's blessing, to keep her from making gaffes! so embarrassing!

maybe she is so undernourished, she couldn't think straight?!?  Yes

but wait, when even mary does a lot better than WK, what does it say about WK?

How about her giggling at New Zealand House when she was supposed to be solemnly paying her respects to NZ's dead after the earthquake.

with her giggling at such a solemn occasion and the UNICEF gaffe, i'm beginning to think the palace has a serious reason keeping her home.....

maybe she should just stick to shopping and having her hair done, with william's and charles's (private) funds?  then her security can be privately paid for as well.

I thought that was disgraceful freethespoon, she was pictured with a big beaming smile, like she was at another cocktail party, it was very disrespectful. She needs some lessons in decorum.

P*ss poor IMO.  And there is no excuse that she's new to this blah blah blah.  As a human being, there is NOTHING remotely giggle worthy about people dying in an earthquake.  Nothing.  You don't need training or time to figure that chestnut out.

Oh, I'll also add the 'I don't care what anyone thinks' in her engagement interview.  The arrogant Waity emerged then, proudly announcing to her future subjects that she doesn't care what they think of her behaviour.  Delightful.

you know ...we dont know what kate was thinking...for all we know ..she couldnt have refused on purpose ....because she WANTED to know how it feels to be malnourished and to empathize with the under-privileged  Roll Eyes Whistle Blink

or some other crap some person will make up in her defense.

Agree. Letizia wasn't even a princess yet. She went along with Queen Sofia and Felipe to visit victims of Mar 11 bombing in the hospital. I remember she went with little make-up, hair in a pony tail and suit. She came out with teary eyes. Emphathy doesn't need training. People either have it, or they don't.

There is a difference between meeting actual victims, and being faced with it head on as Letizia was. And meeting with the families, after the fact.

This is more along a fashion faux pas, when she wore that button suit when they paid a visit to the Birmingham riots. She was decked-out and looked like going to a party. The dress was quite inappropriate considering the occasion.

That still doesn't excuse her grinning like a Cheshire cat. There are two things called empathy and having respect for the dead which Kate doesn't have.

I recall being utterly appalled at the time. I don't know how they let her out after that. There is NO excuse, none at all.  Nono

She's still at it too.  Roll Eyes Why can't she be told to tone it down? Or is it that she's on medication and she can't help it?

IMO, she just cannot stop grinning because she won the jackpot - unexpectedly, against the odds. That's all she thinks about; that's all she's capable of thinking about IMO. Look at her around William: always grinning and fawning like a star-struck teenager. It's really pathetic.

I don't care for Mary, but she has some maturity about her. And, she considers herself superior to Fred; she would never fawn over him.  Tongue

That still doesn't excuse her grinning like a Cheshire cat. There are two things called empathy and having respect for the dead which Kate doesn't have.

I also find her grin irritating.  By grinning on an occasion where you are expected to solemnly pay respect to earthquake victims, Waity only showed her callousness and lack of respect for other people.
There's no question that Waity lacks common sense.
(Oh, but maybe it's a side effect of getting hit in the head by a club/hockey stick...so maybe I shouldn't be so harsh? Thinking)

Waity's behavior doesn't come as a surprise to me, though. Actually I think Waity has been too shielded from the real society by her parents and that's exactly why she has no idea about the hardships and pain that
others sometimes experience. Of course, getting hounded by the press and publicly dumped by the world's most famous prince is in a way exceedingly painful and humiliating, but obviously that hasn't helped build her maturity.

And her not having anything solid to say to the press at the UNICEF meeting is also inexcusable. A lot of information regarding UNICEF is available on the internet.

1) If she didn't want to do any homework, she could have had the palace PR team do it for her,

   or

2) If courtiers really wanted to watch out for her, they could have reminded her and prepared info for her in advance.
Now, if they deliberately let Waity do her own homework (which we know she's incapable of), it leads me to suspect that some palace staff are waiting to watch her fail.  Supercontent

3) If the courtiers did do their part and prepared a file of UNICEF information for Waity, and she was just too LAZY to read it, then she's going to fail anyway (very soon).   Supercontent Supercontent

I don't think Waity will survive on the long run. Honestly, she doesn't have the brain capacity.

Gaffes ... we'll need someone to take on the official role as Royal Gaffer once Philip
gets too old to gaffe.

I have enjoyed Philip's gaffes so much.
A light hearted bit of politically incorrect language or a misfired slander or a funny compliment
is welcome at many a serious occasion.
Philip deserves an extra huge medal.  And he definitely needs to take his apprentice under his wing and teach Kate the fine art of being rude at the right time.

(The public soon identifies that no malicious intent is meant because the public is clever.)
The public knows that Kate has her heart in the right place so she'd be perfect for the job.

This is a great opportunity for Kate - no wonder she has been hanging out for it for so long.

And I guess we're all dumb for criticising her for giggling at a solemn event.  Gotcha.

Who knew it was so acceptable to giggle at people's pain - must be a shift in society that passed me by.  Thankfully.
