Guilford Dudley is England's most forgotten male consort, perhaps because he was only in that role for nine days.
He insisted on being called King, despite his wife Queen Jane's flat refusal.

In 1526 Princess Mary (the future Queen Mary I) returned to London to celebrate Christmas with her parents King Henry VIII and Queen Catherine.

There had been a suggestion that Henry Fitzroy, the son of King Henry VIII, could marry his half-sister Princess Mary to secure Henry's succession and avoid the annulment of King Henry VIII's marriage to Mary's mother Queen Catherine of Aragon.
The Pope drafted a dispensation to allow this.

Whew.  I mean, it would secure the succession but ew.  I wonder how his subjects would have reacted.

In 1470 the Duke of Clarence freed Henry VI from the Tower of London, where Henry had been kept.
Clarence crowned Henry once more as King of England.
Was it necessary for Henry VI to be crowned a second time?
