Ingrid was a sweetheart. I have a relative who once met her, and said she was nice and had a great sense of humour.

The whole DRF has gone downhill ever since her death, IMO.

Star PeDe for the photos.

Who is the (semi) cutie ON the couch? It's been a rough 13 years for Henrik (I'm assuming that's him Wink)!

Henrik was gorgeous when he was younger and also a pretty goodlooking middle aged man until he started gaining all that weight. However, I find it hard to blame him for the decay that has happened within the last 13 years because, natural aging aside, Fred making Mosh royal is pretty nasty to witness.

is that the same brooch that Marge inherited?

Did Yrma get her own? Or was it a present from Daisy?

Didn't both dil get a Daisy brooch? Me thinks the one Mary usually wears is different, it has smaller petals. But I seem to recall that Marie also showed up with a Daisy brooch?

Kind of vain, isn't it?  Giving people a gift shaped into something that is the symbol of your name?  It would be like if someone named Rose gave out things with roses on them to all of her friends and family.

That being said, I do like those Georg Jensen daisies.   Blush

I like the one with the yellow enamel (?) saw it on google once and thought it very sunny Smiley
Btw, putting "vain" and Marge in the same paragraph, isn't it kind of redundant?

The daisy jewelry from Georg Jensen and other companies has been pretty popular here in the recent years. For instance, I got a gold and white enamel daisy necklace from my parents when I finished my education 4 years ago. It goes with matching earrings in the same design my late grandmother used many years ago. I find that really cool Smiley

Yrma got this brooch from Henrik she got to her engagement - it belonged to Henrik's mother Renee de Montpezat (Yrma's is all diamonds)

And Marie got her brooch from Daisy, it was hers (Marie's is diamonds, with a pearl in the middle)

Queen Ingrids 13th anniversary of her passing - 13 years ago Queen Ingrid died.

In this picture I think the strong resemblance between Frederik & Daisy (when she was young) can be seen:

And in THIS one, Queen Ingrid's ruby & diamond tiara looks the way it SHOULD look -- all wavy diamond vines and ruby berries -- before that horrible Mary ruined it (for me at least):

Thanks for posting the pics PeDe!    Star

In the photo of Ingrid and the young Margarethe, isn't Ingrid wearing the brooch that the Queen gave Mary for Christian's Christening!

I find it somewhat silly and vain to give the brooches to her daughters in law. My mother has a similar meaning to her name and matching jewels and she is set on leaving her two brooches and a pendant to her granddaughters. i find that a lot more fitting and actually rather sweet. I would rather not wear my mother-in-laws nickname tagged to my lapel. (Not that she would give me anything more valuable than a sneer)

Like Daisy's pale green dress!!!
Not sure on the abundance of bling on Ingrid.

I think you're right, EA--well spotted! Thumb up Star I've always loved that brooch but thought it was a gift from doting Frodo to his beloved wife Laugh bounce
