In the photo of Ingrid and the young Margarethe, isn't Ingrid wearing the brooch that the Queen gave Mary for Christian's Christening!
I think you're right, EA--well spotted! Thumb up Star I've always loved that brooch but thought it was a gift from doting Frodo to his beloved wife Laugh bounce

I think it's young Anne-Marie, and not Marge

I cannot believe that's QMII. Has anyone ever aged more badly? She's such a gargoyle now.

It's not.

It's Queen Ingrid with young Anne-Marie.

Margrethe was quite pretty, though, when she was young. Anne Marie had a very 'cute' face, IMO, which isn't just due to her youth.

Kind of vain, isn't it?  Giving people a gift shaped into something that is the symbol of your name?  It would be like if someone named Rose gave out things with roses on them to all of her friends and family.

That being said, I do like those Georg Jensen daisies.   Blush

I like the one with the yellow enamel (?) saw it on google once and thought it very sunny Smiley
Btw, putting "vain" and Marge in the same paragraph, isn't it kind of redundant?

welcome sun,

Your English is fine, so large Marge managed to incorporate her nickname into the Danish national identity. Megalomania lives.

Welcome, Sun! Star
So, my curiosity was sparked (though no cats are harmed).
Was it chosen Because Marge is already queen at the time?
Just wondering, because Wiki said this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floral_emblem
The daisy won a 1980s private competition about choosing a national flower, but has not been officially adopted. In 1936, the Danish foreign office replied to Argentina inquiring about a Danish national flower, that it would be the red clover due to its significance in agriculture. The letter event is obscure, and was soon forgotten again.[42] Denmark has never used a floral emblem.

Thank you for the warm welcome  Hug

Maybe maybe, but why they waited so long, or daisies are popular in Danmark ?  Thinking
or it's just a family tradition

IIRC, Annmarie has a fabulous emerald suite. I wonder is it Greek or was it Ingrid's ?

I will try to find some pics
