Anne-Marie's emeralds are Greek.  They were a gift to Queen Olga from a Romanov relative on her marriage to King George of Greece, however at the time the emeralds weren't in the tiara.  After Olga died she left them to her granddaughter-in-law Elisabeth (born a Princess of Romania) who set them in a tiara - that why there is a Es in the tiara.  After Elisabeth's divorce from King George II of Greece they stayed with the Greek royal family and Frederika was the next one to wear it.  When Anne-Marie married Constantine, Frederika gave the emerald tiara and parure to the new Queen.

Queen Ingrid was the former Queen consort of Denmark and the mother of the current Queen of Denmark, Margrethe. She is also the mother of the former Queen consort of Greece Anne Marie. She also has another daughter Princess Benedikte.  She was a Swedish princess, the daughter of the King and his first wife who died while her children were young.

Does anybody know why Frederik IX and Ingrid had their first child in 1940? They were married in 1935. At that time it was normal to have children soon after marriage.....

Maybe they simply didn't get pregnant before that. Same thing happened to my grandparents (the same generation) who got their oldest about five years after marrying.

Sometimes it can take a while, it doesn't happen on demand.

My aunt once said that my mother had her first child more quickly (after marriage) than she. But at time my mother had three children, she had about six children.  Tongue  Wink
